DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD picture exhibits a picture that can appear crisp and nicely detailed at times, but smearing and loss of detail is evident and can be bothersome due to signs of noise reduction. Colors are dated, but nicely balanced, with slightly brownish fleshtones and deep blacks. Contrast and shadow delineation are generally satisfying, though the darkest scenes are wanting in a bit more definition. Edge enhancement is occasionally detected. The source element is revealing of dirt and occasional artifacts. (Suzanne Hodges)
