| WSR Narrative Review |

Story Synopsis:
In Jennifer's Body, Megan Fox plays the hotter-than-hell sexy temptress Jennifer, a gorgeous, seductive cheerleader who becomes possessed by a sinister demon with an insatiable appetite for human flesh. It's up to her best friend (Seyfied) to stop the demonic diva's reign of terror before it's too late! (Gary Reber)
Picture:
The 1080p AVC picture is nicely rendered, though, resolution is inconsistent, with female facial features softened excessively at times, while male facial features are more revealing. Object textures are nicely defined and sharp. Colors are saturated throughout, with rich and warm hues that are nicely contrasted with deep and solid blacks. Fleshtones are perfectly natural throughout. But depending on Jennifer's condition, her tones vary from pale and stressed to warm and healthy, which is intended to establish characterization. Shadow delineation is revealing of depth, and the imagery is effectively dimensional at times. Overall, this is a pleasant viewing experience, with a strong color palette and contrast levels that are dramatically visual. While shot with both digital and film cameras, the imagery projects a film feel, though, pristine throughout. (Gary Reber)
Sound:
The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack misses numerous opportunities to deliver a more involving soundfield, but instead stays frontal soundstage-focused, with occasional effective directional surround envelopment. The surround envelopment can be quite effective and dynamic to enhance the scenes of terror. When fully engaged, the effort works well. Bass extension is deep and powerful, at times, with .1 LFE energy below 25 Hz. Atmospheric and sound effects are well executed and provide horrific enhancement. The rock-and-roll music score is noisy but generally clean. Dialogue is production sound and ADR and is conventionally produced, with acceptable spatial integration. The narrative is nicely balanced without sounding far forward. While the mix is, at times, effectively immersive and holosonically® enveloping, as well as dynamic, the mix is generally inconsistent and incomplete. (Gary Reber)
