"After" follows Tessa (Langford), a dedicated student, dutiful daughter and loyal girlfriend to her high school sweetheart, as she enters her first semester iin college. Armed with grand ambitions for her future, her guarded world opens up when she meets the dark and mysterious Hardin Scott (Tiffin), a magnetic, brooding rebel who makes her question all she thought she knew about herself and what she wants out of life––proving that after your "first," life is never the same. (Gary Reber)

Special features include four deleted scenes (HD 05:41), upfront previews and a Movies Anywhere digital code.

The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a Sony Bravia Z9D 4K Ultra HD HDR display, upconverted to 2160p with greater resolution and luminance, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Panavision® and sourced from a 2K master Digital Intermediate format. Picture quality is not exceptionable, though, exhibiting generally bright settings, whether exterior or interior. The color palette is vivid and well balanced with natural hues. Occasionally, colors pop. Fleshtones appear accurately rendered. Contrast is well balanced with deep blacks and satisfying shadow delineation, even during night scenes. Resolution is good with detail nicely rendered throughout. Fabric texture is finely detailed as are facial features and object textures, though, intimate character close-ups are a bit soft. Overall, this is a pleasingly colorful and bright presentation that nicely depicts young love. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is completely dialogue focused as well as atmospheric focused. The varied music score is energized throughout the soundfield with an aggressive presence that extends to the surrounds. Fidelity is excellent overall. Only a scene with pouring rain is effectively aggressive and surround enveloping. Dialogue is generally well integrated spatially, though, at times is unnaturally forward sounding. The soundtrack nicely conveys the feel of assorted college dormitory and party affairs along with associated atmospheric din. Overall, the soundtrack delivers realistic ambience and lively music that supports the dialogue to tell the story. (Gary Reber)
