    In "Creepy Crawly," while quarantining at a Thailand hotel, guests begin disappearing with no explanation from staff, leaving the group to wonder whether there may be some truth to local urban legends about a terrifying creature rumored to possess its victims. (Gary Reber)

    The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K Digital Intermediate. The picture is very soft in appearance. Color fidelity s generally natural but the green walls of the hotel do cast coolness to the imagery. Still floors and furniture project some warmth. Flesh tones appear naturally hued. Contrast is less than dynamic as the imagery exhibits a subdued lighting design that darkens the picture. Blacks can appear realistic as in the hair on the women characters, and the men as well. Shadows are not always revealing. White levels are generally subdued due to the low luminance lighting. Resolution is only good though better during extreme closeups of character faces with skin pores, lines, hair and beards in focus. Overall, this is a picture that works for the genre. (Gary Reber)

    The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with very aggressive directionalized surround envelopment. The directionality includes panned sound effects. Sound effects and the music are supported by .1 LFE deep bass extensions. The orchestral score is very active with an aggressive enveloping soundfield presence. The music extends wide and deep into both the soundstage and the soundfield. Dialogue is in Thai with English subtitles and one has to read rather fast to keep up with what is being said. As the movie progresses the holosonic® soundtrack gets evermore aggressive and horrifically intense. Horror monster fans will be appreciative. (Gary Reber)
