    "The Creator" is set against the backdrop of a war between humans and robots with artificial intelligence, a former soldier finds the secret weapon, a robot in the form of a young child (Madeleine Yuna Voyles). (Gary Reber)

    The 2.76:1 2160p HEVC/H.265 4K Ultra HD HDR10 picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally in anamorphic Atlas Scope using the DJI Mavic 2, Sony ILME-FX3 and Sony PXW-FX9 camera systems and sourced from a 4K Digital Intermediate. Picture quality is excellent with a visionary production design that is unique in settings and technology. The color palette exhibits a wide color spectrum with naturallY rich and warm hues. Flesh tones are perfectly natural And reaListic. HDR contrast is excellent. Black levels are deep and natural, and quite prevalent throughout. Shadows are likewise prevalent and captured with excellent delineation. White levels never appear exaggerated and exhibit realistic intensities. Resolution exhibits fine detail and excellent clarity and sharpness. Facial features are defined well with revealing complexions, skin pores, lines, and beards. Clothing reveals fine fabric structure. Objects and machinery appear realistic and resolved for a very futurist appearance. This is a captivating creative visual experience with clear and sharp imagery and natural colors. (Gary Reber)

    The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is dynamic sounding with tremendous bass extension, which at times energizes frequencies at sub-25 Hz levels. Atmospherics reflect the futuristic sound design and sound effects are often powerful, such as missile war head explosions and gunfire. Both atmospherics and sound effects envelop the soundfield with an aggressive and, at times, directionalized effect. Hans Zimmer's wonderful orchestral/choral score is wide and deep with an aggressive dimensional surround presence. Dialogue is intelligible throughout and for the most part ADR produced with generally good spatial integration.

    The Immersive Sound element is comprised primarily of an extension of the music to the height layer. There are a few very brief instances of atmospherics, such as wind, thunder, sirens and a roar of a rolling Army battle vehicle. There also are a few very brief instances of sound effects, such as explodions. Otherwise, this is disappointing because the imagery and settings are ripe with opportunities for height layer extension.

    This is an exciting ear-level holosonic® sound design with excellent fidelity and dimensionality for a reference quality experience. (Gary Reber)

    I need a magazine at dose and not a sugar coat approach to reviews. I need a magazine that is not bias or a sell-out. And Widescreen Review is my winner. I am a 23-year old audiophile that likes to stay in the know and up to date on what’s new and what’s hot. I can't do that with a magazine that says every single review is a good one, like other mags out there that will be left name-less. The Sound And Vision of a product is important, but don’t sell-out to make a buck, and those people out there are the ones who think that Gateway makes a good plasma. Keep up the good work.
