In "PAW Parol: The Mighty Movie," when a magical meteor crash lands in Adventure City, it gives the PAW Patrol pups superpowers, transforming them into The MIGHTY PUPS! But they face their mightiest challenge yet when the pups' arch-rival Humdinger breaks out of jail and teams up with Victoria Vance, a mad scientist, to steal the superpowers for themselves. With the fate of Adventure City hanging in the balance, the Mighty Pups have to stop the super-villains before it's too late. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurettes "PAW-Somely Mighty Pups" (HD 05:58) and "A Totally PAW-Some Cast" (HD 05:15 ) and a digital copy.

The 2.39:1 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K Digital Intermediate. Just imagine this in 4K Ultra HD, which would no doubt deliver a far more saturated color palette than is exhibited on this Blu-ray. That is not to say the colors are not distinctive, but they appear a bit under saturated. They appear softer in hue intensity and even pastel in hue. While the core pup colors and the glowing accents on objects and vehicles are satisfying, they just seem less potent. Contrast delivers natural black and white levels and revealing shadows. Resolution is excellent with sharp lines defining characters and objects. Overall, the picture is pleasing. (Gary Reber)

The Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1-channel soundtrack is less than dynamic sounding with less punch than should be the case. The orchestral score extends across the soundstage and deep into the surrounds with less than full power. Bass extension also is reserved but an essential element in the action sequences within the soundfield. Sound effects and Foley nicely complement the imagery. The climactic meteor explosive blast action event delivers the strongest sonics. Dialogue amongst the pups and human characters is ADR produced and sounds unnaturally forward with poor spatial integration.

The Immersive Sound element is weak and infrequent. The height layer delivers basically only sporadic low level din atmospherics, sound effects and instances of dialogue and even a touch of occasional music. Far more could have been implemented to support the imagery and enhance spatial dimensionality.

Overall, while holosonic® sounding, the soundtrack lacks effective dynamic punch. (Gary Reber)
