    In "The Moon," seven years after Korea's first fully manned mission to the moon ends in disaster, a second human spaceflight is launched successfully –– until a strong solar wind causes the spacecraft to malfunction. With an astronaut left stranded in space and quickly running out of oxygen, the Naro Space Center turns to it former managing director to avert yet another fatal catastrophe. (Gary Reber)

    The 1.90:1 (IMAX aspect ratio) 1080p AVC picture, reviewed on a VIZIO Quantum X P85QX-JI UHD/HDR display, was photographed digitally and sourced from a 2K Digital Intermediate. The picture is full of visual effects of the spacecrafts and the moon's lunar surface, including a massive earthquake and meteoric crash during a docking process. Picture quality is excellent in such scenes. The space center interior appears realistic as well. Color fidelity exhibits natural hues, which are generally cool in temperature but warm and rich in some scenes. Flesh tones appear generally natural. Contrast is wide with deep black levels, revealing shadows and bright white levels. Resolution exhibits excellent sharpness and clarity with fine detail displayed in facial features, clothing and astronaut suits, and objects. Such detail enhances realism. This is a solid picture with compelling imagery that will be especially appreciated by space enthusiasts. (Gary Reber)

    The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1-channel soundtrack is in Korean language with English subtitles. Atmospherics and sounds effects are prominent and aggressive. The orchestral/choral score is dynamic and occupies a wide and deep sound stage that extends aggressively to the surrounds. Theatrically, this was a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, which the imagery is well suited to extension of sound effects to the height layer. Surround energy is quite aggressive for the most part. Deep, sub-25 Hz bass effectively supports the sound effects and atmospherics. Dialogue sounds realistic with generally good spatial integration and at times is directionalixed within the soundfield. This is an exciting holosonic® soundtrack full of powerful sound effects. (Gary Reber)
