In Officer Down, dirty copy Detective Callahan (Dorff) was shot in a drug bust gone wrong one year ago and saved by a stranger, giving Callahan a second chance to clean up his life. But when the stranger finally comes forward, seeking revenge against the men responsible for a string of assaults on young women at a local strip club, Callahan must go rogue to find the attacker in an effort to hide how his own past played a part in these crimes. His desperation to find the attacker and cover his tracks takes him down a violent road of deception and fraud. Can he play the "good cop" and track down the assailant while still keeping his reputation clean? (Gary Reber)

The 2.41:1 1080p AVC picture exhibits a pristine, natural appearance with warm hues and well-balanced contrast, with deep blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Shot with the Red One digital system, the color palette is richly hued with a warm filtered hue. Fleshtones are perfectly natural. Numerous segments are presented in black-and-white, with an impressive gray scale, with spots of color. Resolution is excellent, with fine detail exhibited in facial features, hair, clothing, and object texture. This is a pleasing visual experience that won't disappoint. (Gary Reber)
The Dolby® TrueHD 5.1-channel soundtrack is effectively produced with natural dialogue that is well-integrated spatially most of the time, though, occasionally forward sounding due to close miking and ADR. Atmospherics and sound effects are well balanced and extend to the surrounds, for an immersive experience. The music score also enhances the sense of soundfield envelopment and dimension. Deep bass .1 LFE energy is never exaggerated and is effectively supported during the action sequences. This is an effective soundtrack that is well balanced. (Gary Reber)
